Alfie Templeman
Alfie Templeman is a singer-songwriter from Central Bedfordshire, England, whose music spans indie pop, indie rock, dance-pop, pop rock and slacker rock. He grows up in a musical household: his sister plays piano and trumpet, and his father collects guitars, with more than twenty instruments kept around the home.
He begins playing drums at the age of seven, after developing an interest in rock and indie music. He also starts making his own recordings, first capturing guitar, bass and drum parts as instrumental sketches before moving on to vocals. Inspired by the countryside around Carlton, the night sky outside his window and the flowers on the village green in spring, he develops these early ideas into his first demos.
Templeman later teaches himself more advanced studio software and, in 2016, begins working on fully formed tracks alongside school and periods of work on building sites. He records, produces and refines his early material himself, eventually adding his voice to the songs. His debut single and an EP of the same name, Like An Animal, mark the release of these early studio-built songs.
