Alexis Taylor is a British musician and songwriter, born in 1980, best known as the front man of Hot Chip. He sings for the band and also plays keyboards, guitar, percussion and piano. He is also active as a solo artist and appears in several other groups, including About Group, The Atomic Bomb Band and Fainting By Numbers.

Hot Chip

Taylor is the lead vocalist of Hot Chip, the British electro-pop group. His role in the band also includes keyboards, guitar, percussion and piano. The group’s second album, The Warning, is followed by his first solo album.

Solo work

His solo debut, Rubbed Out, is released in 2008. In 2012, he issues the solo EP Nayim From The Halfway Line on Domino Records. Domino also releases Await Barbarians in 2014. His third full-length solo album, Piano, is a piano-based record released in 2016.

Other projects

In 2008, Taylor forms About Group, an improvisational quartet with Spring Heel Jack’s John Coxon, Pat Thomas and former This Heat drummer Charles Hayward. He is the keyboardist in that group.
