Alexandria Maillot
Alexandria Maillot is a Vancouver-based indie pop artist from Vancouver Island. She develops both as a singer and songwriter, and her work combines performance experience with songwriting for other artists and commercial projects.
Performances and early experience
Maillot performs at a range of festivals and events, including the Nile Song Festival in Egypt, the Golden Star Festival in Romania, the Vancouver Island Music Festival, and the Merritt Mountain Music Festival. One of her best-known appearances is a performance in Toronto with Jann Arden, invited by David Foster for A World of Possibilities, the concert that marks the opening of the Michael Lee Chin wing of the Royal Ontario Museum.
Songwriting work
She turns her attention to songwriting after concentrating on performance, and she writes with producer Joby Baker and her sister, Amanda Maillot. Their song Revolution becomes a finalist in the We Are Listening song contest and is chosen by Universal in Europe for Stefanie Heinzmann, reaching the European top 10. Maillot also has a song called Confession, which Universal picks up for another of its artists. Her songs also attract interest for television, radio, and commercial placements.
Voice and musical background
She sings from an early age and is known for a strong vocal style. Her family recognises her musical ability from childhood, and her background reflects an early and sustained focus on singing and performance.
