Alex Smoke

Alex Smoke is a Scottish electronic musician from Glasgow, associated with minimal techno, techno, electronica and grime. He releases his first single in 2002 and goes on to put together his first solo album, Incommunicado, over a four-year period before it appears on Soma Records. The album draws attention for its restrained, emotionally charged sound and is followed by Paradolia the next year.

His music is described through its use of mournful melodies, drifting sound effects and subdued vocals, and he also sings on the political track “Don’t See the Point”. The name Alex Smoke is linked with a sombre, melancholic style, and his growing profile leads to demand for performances across Europe.
