Alex Roberts is a United Kingdom folk musician whose work draws on folk, blues and acoustic styles, with influences ranging from baroque to blues. He performs with a warm, soulful voice and plays finger-style guitar, lap steel, mandolin and stompbox.
His writing is described as direct and uncompromising, with an often edgy quality. In performance, he weaves themes and stories into his songs. He has a catalogue of around two hundred songs and plays in venues and festivals in places including Copenhagen and Barbados.
Roberts’ songs reflect a life spent travelling and absorbing different cultures across Europe and the Indian subcontinent. Those experiences shape his debut album, The Giant Killer Sessions, while his more reclusive period living in a tepee informs his second album, By The Ley.
