Alex Mills is a British singer-songwriter working in house and related urban styles. She starts singing at the age of eight and is noted for a distinctive vocal style. Her influences include Etta James, Ray Charles and Chaka Chan.

Collaborations and releases

She works with Roll Deep, the house producers the Audiowhores, and labels including Berwick St. Records, Osiris and Blowineast. She also records with the house duo Fanatix, made up of Aaron Ross and Neil Pierce. Mills completes an album and signs to Brownpunk, an independent label owned by Chris Blackwell and Tricky. She also contributes vocals to a Tricky album and has one of her tracks signed to a film featuring Bob Marley's daughter and Elliot Gould.

Performances

Mills appears on Later... with Jools Holland and performs at venues and events including Alexandra Palace in London, the Love Music Hate Racism festival, Ministry of Sound, Cargo, The Egg and The Cross. At The Cross, the house duo Masters At Work invite her to perform with them.
