Alex Metric is the recording name of Alex Drury, a British musician, DJ and producer from London. He works in electronic music and is associated with breakbeat, electro, electro house and breaks.

Career

He begins his career as a nuskoolbreaks producer and later releases numerous EPs. He also works as a producer for other artists, including The Infadels, Charli Xcx and Adam Freeland.

Recognition and radio work

Alex Metric comes to wider attention in 2008 after being voted Best Breakthrough Producer at Breakspoll. He also receives the title of Best Remixer of the Year from London radio station XFM.

He is a resident DJ on BBC Radio 1’s In New DJs We Trust and joins the programme in 2009. He later leaves the station at the end of 2010 to focus on his productions.
