Alex Clare is a British singer and songwriter from Southwark, United Kingdom. Born in 1986, he works in alternative rock, dubstep, electronic and soul, and is also associated with pop rock.

Career

Clare begins as a musician on trumpet and drums before moving into guitar-based songwriting. He performs original songs at open-mike nights and builds an early profile through live performance and demos. One demo leads to a recording deal with Island in the UK.

Recording work

His debut album is produced by Diplo and Switch. From that record, he releases the track “Up All Night”. He also issues videos for “Up All Night”, “Relax My Beloved” and “Too Close”.

Personal life

During his early career, Clare dates Amy Winehouse for a year after meeting her at a performance at The Hawley Arms in Camden, North London.
