Alan Prosser is an English folk musician, born in 1951, best known as the lead guitarist and a founding member of Oysterband. He writes or co-writes many of the group’s best known songs and remains active with the band, touring and recording with them.

Career

Prosser plays in English folk-rock and has worked with a number of groups over the course of his career, including The Clee Three, Madam John, Cuspidor, Beggar’s Description, Fiddler’s Dram, the Albion Band and Oysterband. He is listed as a member of Oysterband and Fiddler’s Dram. His work also includes occasional collaborative tours with other folk artists.

Solo releases

He releases two solo albums: Hall Place and Makerfield. Both are described as critically acclaimed. He is also associated with Rafting Dog Records.
