Alan Burke is an Irish singer and songwriter whose repertoire includes traditional songs, Gaelic material and contemporary songs. He performs mainly as a solo artist, usually accompanying himself on guitar.

Career

Before starting a solo career, he fronts the band AFTERHOURS for many years. He also works as a session musician and supports Christy Moore, Sharon Shannon, Moving Hearts, Altan, Donal Lunny, Davy Spillane, Paddy Glackin and DeDannan, among others.

Recordings

His solo releases include On the Other Hand and Tip Of The Tongue. He also appears on the co-recording The Eagle's Whistle and on the AIRLA band project Ar Mhuin Na Muice, an Irish song collection.

Burke is known for a clear voice and guitar-led performances that draw on Irish and Celtic song traditions.
