Akram Abdulfattah is a violinist and musician from Israel, with Palestinian-American background. He begins music study on percussion at a local conservatory at the age of six, then takes up classical violin at 10 with Stella Shternberg. He later studies at the Beit-Almusica Conservatory with Kamil Shajrawi and graduates with excellence in 2008.

He continues his training at the Jerusalem Academy for Music and Dance, where he starts his first degree, completes it in 2012, and goes on to study for a master’s degree there. Abdulfattah wins first place in the Marcel Khalifa Competition in Jerusalem in both 2006 and 2008, and takes first prize at the Palestinian National Music Competition in 2010.

His work includes international projects such as a pupil exchange with the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London and participation in the Arabic Music Retreat at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, led by Simon Shaheen. He performs as a violin soloist in festivals, concerts, and music television programmes, and forms the young quartet Awan in Palestine.
