Akarusa Yami

Akarusa Yami is a Nottinghamshire-based industrial group formed in 2010 by guitarist Tom Clarke, who also plays in Insidious, and vocalist Tom Brumpton. The line-up later expands to include drummer Adam Jones, guitarist Damian Lee, bassist Jake Bennett and keyboardist Lee Dowling.

Releases and recording

The band’s debut EP, Ouroboros, appears in September 2011. Their early singles, Third Eye, Wide Open and Millennium Is My Salvation, receive national airplay in more than 11 countries across Europe and are also played on internet radio stations worldwide. In late 2011 the group records Life, The Venomous Way with producer James Dunkley, known for work with Vallenfyre. Both Life and Ouroboros are mastered by Tim Turan, whose credits include Plan B and Emperor. The band also works on Trace Element Rebirth, an EP planned for release in early 2013.

Reception and live work

Akarusa Yami attract coverage from publications including Terrorizer, Zero Tolerance, Metal Hammer Norway and Legacy in Germany. They play Bloodstock Festival in 2011 and support Textures, The Ocean and Aliases. Their music is described as industrial, and the group is presented as having developed quickly over its first two years of activity.
