Ajja is a Swiss psychedelic trance artist, musician, producer, DJ, label manager, graphic artist and tattoo artist. He works in electronic music and psychedelic trance, and is associated with The Peaking Goddess Collective, Tranceformation, Vogon 42 and Undefined Behavior.

Background

Ajja S.F. Leu is born in London in 1975 and grows up travelling with a family of tattoo artists and travellers. He starts playing guitar at the age of nine, and by the end of the 1990s his focus shifts from guitar-based music towards electronic production and digital performance.

Projects and collaborations

In 2002, he and musicians Master Margherita, Dymons and Flooting Grooves form The Peaking Goddess Collective, a chill and psytrance project that combines live instruments with digital technology. In 2003, he and DJ Gaspard create Yab Yum, a fully digital project. From 2005, he records solo material under the name Ajja, developing a digital live act built around a 144 bpm sound and psychedelic trance designed for both daytime and nighttime sets.

Alongside his music career, Ajja manages Peak Records and also works as a graphic artist and tattoo artist.
