Airhead is a British electronic producer from the United Kingdom whose work is associated with minimal drum and bass and experimental electronic music. He is the project of Rob McAndrews.
Career
Airhead appears in collaboration with James Blake before releasing solo material, including the 10-inch single Pembroke, which comes out on Brainmath. He follows this with the album Paper Street later the same year, with a version by Nick Höppner. He later signs to R&S Records and releases Wait / South Congress as a 10-inch single through the label, followed by For Years on R&S.
Style
His music is described as spacious and abstract, and it is linked to James Blake’s early work. The project is also tagged with dubstep, future garage, and indie, alongside electronic and minimal drum and bass.
