Against The Flood
Against The Flood is a Canadian group associated with metalcore, progressive metalcore, hardcore, progressive and technical metalcore. The band begins jamming together in late 2007, with Jono Weaker on guitar, James Kentfield on guitar, Matt Buckland on bass and Dan Spry on drums. Their sound develops from a harder-edged hardcore approach into a more technical style.
The group officially forms in early 2009 when Matt Church joins on vocals. Soon after, they record a self-titled debut EP at Outhouse Studios, where Architects, The Arusha Accord and You Me At Six also record. The writing and recording process then enters a new phase as the line-up brings in fresh ideas and the band starts organising gigs. In January 2010, the group returns to Outhouse Studios to record two further songs.
