Afterlife

Afterlife is the chillout and electronic project of UK producer Steve Miller. He works as a writer, producer and remixer, and is associated with balearic and lounge-oriented music.

Career

Miller builds the Afterlife sound around relaxed, beach-inspired electronic music. He works with major artists including K-Klass, Karl Pitterson and Jose Padilla, and has tracks included on the Cafe Del Mar series. He also reaches a wider audience through a remix of Roger Sanchez’s Another Chance, which appears in the UK charts.

He performs at large events in the early 2000s, including Glastonbury, and heads Cafe Del Mar’s 20th anniversary party. His work is supported by electronic music curators such as Nemone and Trevor Fung.

Style and context

Afterlife is linked with chillout, lounge, downtempo, ambient and electronic music. The project is identified with Balearic and sunset-style music, particularly in connection with Cafe Del Mar and Ibiza.
