Aero Flynn

Aero Flynn is the recording name used by Josh Scott, a musician from Minneapolis–Saint Paul. The project emerges from the Wisconsin indie rock scene, particularly the early 2000s network around Eau Claire, and is associated with indie rock, indietronica, indie pop and rock.

Background

Scott is part of the circle that includes DeYarmond Edison, Amateur Love, Megafaun, Field Report and Bon Iver-related players. Amateur Love shares members Brad Cook, Phil Cook and Brian Moen with DeYarmond Edison, and the project connects to the same wider group of Wisconsin musicians. Scott also moves through periods of withdrawal and returns to recording under the Aero Flynn name after a period away from performing.

Recording and collaborators

The Aero Flynn album is produced by Justin Vernon, who also assembles the sessions. The recording features Mike Noyce, Sean Carey, Rob Moose, CJ Camerieri, Matt Sweeney, Ben Lester and Adam Hurlburt. The project’s line-up also includes Dave Power.
