Aegaeon
Aegaeon is an American deathcore group from Indiana, formed in 2008. The band has a lineup of Julian Kersey on vocals, Sebastian Brown and Jerry Grannan on guitars, and Nick Scott on bass, with Anthony Barone on drums. James Martin is also listed among the group’s members.
Releases and activity
The group releases music independently and remains unsigned. Its recorded output includes two EPs and one full-length album: Exponential Transcendence, Dissension, and Being. The debut EP appears in 2009, followed by the first album in 2011 and the second EP in 2012. Aegaeon also issues three music videos.
Early history
Aegaeon forms in December 2008 with Jerry Grannan, Nick Scott, Sebastian Brown, Jim Martin, and Craig Nelson. Exponential Transcendence is recorded with Miah Lajeunesse at the Sound Lair in Knoxville, Tennessee and is self-released. The band supports the EP with touring in 2011.
Dissension and Being
Dissension, the group’s debut LP, is produced by Miah Lajeunesse at the Sound Lair and co-produced by Jerry Grannan. The song “Dimensions of Reality” receives a video directed by Scott Hansen. The album is self-released in physical and digital form and is followed by touring in the latter part of 2011, including dates with Fallujah.
Being is announced in 2012 and also self-released. A video for “Reshaping the Multiverse” is credited to Wild Method Workshop. Another video, for “Neural Union,” is later released by the band.
Line-up changes
In 2012, Jim Martin leaves the band for personal reasons. Jonathan Huber then fills the vocal role on a winter tour before leaving. Julian Kersey, previously the bass player for Rose Funeral, becomes the permanent vocalist in 2013. Earlier drummers include Craig Nelson, Sargent Engle, and Justin Bess.
