Adult Mom
Adult Mom is a project by Stevie Knipe, a musician from Purchase, United States. The act begins in 2012 and is active from then to the present. It is associated with folk, indie pop, lo-fi and pop, and releases music on Epitaph. Adult Mom is the stage name Knipe uses for the project.
Early releases
The project starts with Bedroom Recordings, an EP recorded in Knipe’s bedroom and released on Bandcamp. The following year, Knipe releases two more EPs, bstmommy and Mom's Day. In July 2014, Adult Mom releases the EP Sometimes Bad Happens, which appears at number four on Rolling Stone’s list of the 10 best cassettes of 2014.
Albums and collaborations
In August 2014, Knipe releases the full-length album I Fell in Love by Accident. Adult Mom also appears on a split release alongside Cyberbully Mom Club and i tried to run away when i was 6. In 2015, Knipe releases Momentary Lapse of Happily, the first Adult Mom album on Tiny Engines.
Background
Knipe studies anthropology at the State University of New York at Purchase and identifies as genderqueer. Adult Mom remains the main name associated with Knipe’s recorded output.
