Ade Payne
Ade Payne is an acoustic rock and folk rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. He develops his own style through self-teaching rather than formal lessons, starting to write songs after getting his first guitar at the age of 15. Before that, at 12, he is already listening to a wide range of artists including Neil Young, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Aerosmith, 10cc, Eagles, Paul McCartney, Genesis, Rush, Led Zeppelin and Lynyrd Skynyrd, which shapes his musical interests.
Songwriting and recordings
Payne begins by learning three basic chords and uses them to start writing songs. Instead of focusing on covering other artists, he keeps creating new material, and this approach leads him to learn the songs he wants to play as part of the process. Over time he becomes a prolific songwriter and singer, with many of his songs recorded and regularly performed. He also has a catalogue of additional songs waiting to be recorded.
Live work and appearances
He performs internationally and appears at festivals including NXNE in Toronto, Thimbleberry Festival, Grassington Festival, Marylebone Festival and the Acoustic Festival of Great Britain. He also shares bills with acts such as Jethro Tull, the Stranglers, Whitesnake, Bad Company, Fairport Convention, Donovan, Marillion, Ben’s Brother, The Animals and Newton Faulkner.
Albums
Payne releases two albums: My Town and If All The World....
