Adam Sweet

Adam Sweet is a blues rock, blues and acoustic blues artist from Wolverhampton. He develops his sound from guitar-led classic rock and blues, drawing on the music of the 1960s and 1970s that first led him to perform. He starts playing guitar at 15 and appears regularly at venues around his hometown in the South West of England before building a wider live profile.

Career

He spends around a decade performing with different bands before moving further into solo work. His live style centres on voice and guitar, and he gains a reputation as a solo performer on the South West circuit. He also works as part of the groups LugRadio, Passion Star and Gaelicado.

In 2012 he joins the independent Devon-based label NEO Music. That year he releases the live EP I Work Alone, begins appearing at higher-profile festivals, completes his first tour of Scotland and receives a nomination for Best Blues Act at the South West Music Awards.

In 2013 he works with singer-songwriter Steve Black on new material and records with producer Alan West at NEO Music in Devon and with Thomm Jutz at his studio in Nashville. His debut album, Small Town Thinking, follows in December 2013.

Reception

Sweet is described in festival and club notices as a strong live performer with a driving guitar style and a mature vocal delivery. His stage presence and solo format are repeatedly noted in reviews of his performances, including tributes and blues festival appearances.
