Adam Green is an American singer-songwriter from Mount Kisco, New York. He co-founds the anti-folk group The Moldy Peaches with Kimya Dawson after briefly attending Emerson College in 1998, then leaves college to focus on music.

When The Moldy Peaches go on hiatus in 2004, Green and Dawson each pursue solo careers. Green releases several albums on Rough Trade Records and is associated with anti-folk, folk, rock and singer-songwriter styles.

Songwriting and recorded work

Green is known for songs including “Jessica”, written about singer Jessica Simpson, “Novotel”, “Friends of Mine”, “Dance with Me”, “Carolina” and “Emily”. In Britain, his cover of The Libertines’ “What a Waster” also becomes one of his best-known tracks.

His albums include Jacket Full of Danger and Sixes & Sevens. Before Jacket Full of Danger, all of his albums are released on the 22nd of the month. Sixes & Sevens includes “Morning After Midnight”, “Twee Twee Dee” and “Drowning Head First”, the last of which is a duet with his girlfriend.

Later recognition

In January 2008, The Moldy Peaches experience a resurgence in popularity after their music is included in the film Juno.
