Adam F is a drum and bass and hip hop producer and DJ from Liverpool, United Kingdom. Born in 1972, he comes from a musical family: his father is the pop singer Bernard William Jewry, known as Alvin Stardust.

Career

Adam F’s breakthrough comes with the techstep single Metropolis/Mother Earth, which is released in 1997 on Metalheadz. He signs to EMI in the UK and in 1998 wins a MOBO award for his debut album Colours. That album includes the UK Top 20 singles Music in my Mind, Circles and Brand New Funk.

Hip hop work and collaborations

Alongside his drum and bass work, Adam F develops a reputation in hip hop through the collaborative project KAOS – The Anti-Accoustic Warfare. He works with LL Cool J and Missy Elliott, and he produces tracks on LL Cool J’s first number one US Billboard album.

Labels and other projects

Adam F is founder and co-owner of the UK independent label Breakbeat Kaos, which signs Pendulum and releases the platinum-selling album Hold Your Colour. The label also releases singles and albums by Chase & Status and The Brookes Brothers. His labels also include Kaos Recordings and Adam F Publishing Ltd.

Other credits

He has composer credits on several films, including Ali G Indahouse. He also has eight gold discs and two platinum awards. He works with Redman and Nick Halkes, also known as Horx, and Nick Halkes is the person who originally signs him to Positiva.

Adam F is married to Kirsty Hawkshaw, who is a member of Opus III.
