Actors

Actors are a post-punk and darkwave quartet from Vancouver, British Columbia. The group forms in 2012, led by vocalist and guitarist Jason Corbett and completed by synth and vocalist Shannon Hemmett, drummer Adam Fink and bass guitarist Jahmeel Russell. Their sound is influenced by 1980s acts including Joy Division, New Order and Roxy Music.

Career

After forming, Actors build a live following in and around Vancouver and release their first 7-inch, Post Traumatic Love/Nightlife, on the local label Northern Light Records. A remix EP follows that same year, with reworkings by artists including Canadian group Humans and Russian vocalist Felix Bondarev. Over the next few years they release several singles independently and tour across Canada and the United States.

Releases and label work

In 2017, Actors issue the Reanimated EP, which collects remastered versions of tracks from 2012 onwards. They then sign to Toronto label Artoffact Records, which releases their first full-length album, It Will Come to You, in 2018.
