Aby Coulibaly is a singer-songwriter from Dublin, Ireland, working in contemporary R&B and R&B. She starts recording in 2019 with friends and goes on to help found an independent label, Chamomile Records, with them.

She begins by making music at home, recording over YouTube beats in her room. At first she is shy about singing in the studio, although she hums melodies while working with friends. Those early demos are later uploaded to SoundCloud and build her a small following. She then starts performing in Dublin, emerging from the city’s underground scene.

Her debut single, Taurus, appears in July and passes 600,000 streams. She is also featured on more than 20 Spotify editorial playlists, including R&B UK, Lush + Ethereal, Sweet Soul Sunday, Riffs & Runs, Boho & Chill, New Music Friday, Dazed, Nightcap and Surface.

Coulibaly says her music is rooted in alternative R&B and draws on a wide range of influences, including Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, James Blake and Empire of the Sun. She describes songwriting as a way of processing emotions from a moment into songs that connect with people moving into adulthood.
