Abigail Bailey

Abigail Bailey is a UK-based house, acoustic and pop vocalist and DJ. She works from Reading, London and the southeast of England.

Career

She spends much of the mid to late 1990s as the lead singer of jazz funk band Obsession before turning to dance music. Her breakthrough singles arrive in 1998 and 1999, which mark the beginning of her strongest period as a recording artist.

In 2004 she works with Manchester DJs and producers Jason Herd and John Fitz, releasing five collaborations in that year. She also writes toplines for other artists and producers.

DJ work and style

Bailey later takes up DJing after wanting to do so for many years, combining live acappellas with chunky house in her sets. Her voice is described as angelic, soulful and having a diva-like edge.

Following this fused performance approach, she is offered a residency at PUKKA UP at PACHA in London, appearing there once a month.
