A2 is a name used by more than one act. One is Wesley Bishop, a rapper and producer from Croydon. The other is Mona Lisa Overdrive, formerly known as A2, an electronic act with a sound described as combining 1980s new wave and modern electronica.

Wesley Bishop

Wesley Bishop performs as A2 and works as a rapper and producer from the Croydon area. He is part of the group of artists often associated with the CR7 postcode, alongside names such as Krept & Konan, Stormzy, Bonkaz and Section Boyz. His early work begins in grime before moving towards R&B-led material and production built around older R&B samples, with his style also described as trap soul.

Since 2012, he releases a run of EPs including Hennessy Thoughts, Faded Photographs, VII, VII 2, Once Too Many and More Sleep. He also releases More Sleep 2 and plans a first mixtape titled Blue. His work develops from grime into a more melodic, R&B-influenced direction.

Mona Lisa Overdrive

Mona Lisa Overdrive performs under the former name A2. The act makes atmospheric electronic music that blends 1980s new wave with modern electronica, using guitars and emotional vocals. It remains unsigned, and its tracks circulate online. One track, Lost and Found, appears on Sega's Shadow the Hedgehog game and on the Shadow soundtrack.
