A Day To Remember

A Day To Remember is a US post-hardcore band from Ocala, Florida, formed in 2003 by guitarist Tom Denney and drummer Bobby Scruggs. The group is known for combining metalcore and pop punk, while also drawing on other styles associated with alternative rock, easycore, emo pop, metalcore, pop punk and pop rock.

Line-up

The band includes vocalist Jeremy McKinnon, rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist Neil Westfall, bassist Joshua Woodard, drummer Alex Shelnutt and lead guitarist Kevin Skaff. Bobby Scruggs and Tom Denney are part of the group’s early history, and Brandon Roberts is also listed among the band’s members.

Early releases and recording history

A Day To Remember first records And Their Name Was Treason, which appears in 2005 on Indianola. In 2006, Scruggs is replaced by Shelnutt, and later that year the band records For Those Who Have Heart, released in 2007 on Victory. Homesick follows in 2009, after which Denney is replaced by Skaff while the band tours. The next album, What Separates Me from You, appears in 2010, and the band tours internationally in support of it.

Later career

The group is involved in a legal dispute with Victory in 2011 over its recording contract, and the matter is settled in October 2013. Common Courtesy is released in 2013, followed by Bad Vibrations in 2016 and You're Welcome in 2021. The band also performs tours in the UK and the United States and appears at several festivals.
