A Band of Buriers is an English alternative folk group that combines folk and alternative rap. The act is built around James P Honey and Jamie Romain. They are sometimes joined by Matthew Romain on violin, James Reindeer on field recordings, Mesparrow on vocals and Nadia D’ Alò on vocals.

Members and background

James P Honey is an alt rapper, singer and poet. He is associated with the international alternative rap scene and co-founds the Decorative Stamp music label and collective. Jamie Romain is a classically trained cellist who performs and collaborates across different genres. The project develops a sound that uses acoustic arrangements, dreamy melodies, strong string textures and abstract, imaginative poetry.

Related projects

Before A Band of Buriers, Honey and Romain work together as Sold Out Cyclone, an experimental anti-folk project. Under that name they release Dreamers are Insomniacs, a ten-track album issued in 2010 through Decorative Stamp. Honey also works on Murmur Breeze, a hip hop project with producer AbSUrd.
