88 Fingers Louie

88 Fingers Louie are an American punk rock band from Chicago, Illinois, formed in 1993. Their sound spans hardcore punk, melodic hardcore and punk rock, and they are also associated with skate punk.

Early releases and first period

The group releases its debut 7-inch, Go Away, in 1993. Over the following years it issues several albums, and its last release in this first period is a split album with Kid Dynamite. The original line-up includes Denis Buckley on vocals, Dan Wleklinski on guitar and vocals, Joe Principe on bass and vocals, and drummers Dom Vallone, Glenn Porter and John Carrol across different periods. The band disbands in 1999.

After the split and reformations

After the 1999 split, Joe Principe and Dan Wleklinski go on to form Rise Against. Denis Buckley later sings in the melodic hardcore band Explode and Make Up. 88 Fingers Louie reforms in 2009, plays some touring and releases a live album, then goes on indefinite hiatus in 2011. The later line-up includes John Contreras on bass and John Carrol on drums and vocals.
