6LACK is the professional name of Ricardo Valdez Valentine Jr., an American singer, rapper and songwriter from Baltimore, United States, born in 1992. He records in alternative R&B, contemporary R&B, hip hop, hip hop soul, pop soul and trap soul.

Career

6LACK first gains wider recognition with the single “Prblms”, which appears on his debut album, Free 6lack. The album is released in November 2016 and establishes him as a solo artist in contemporary R&B and rap.

His second album, East Atlanta Love Letter, arrives in September 2018 and reaches number three on the Billboard 200. Later in 2018, he releases “OTW” with Khalid and Ty Dolla Sign.

In June 2020, he releases the EP 6pc Hot, which includes “Know My Rights” featuring Lil Baby. Later that year, he appears on Gorillaz’s “The Pink Phantom” with Sir Elton John. In 2021, “Calling My Phone” with Lil Tjay tops the chart in Canada and reaches number three in the United States.

6LACK appears on Normani’s single “Waves”, which earns him an MTV Video Music Award. He also receives three Grammy Award nominations.

He is signed to Love Renaissance and Interscope Records. He is also a member of Spillage Village, the Atlanta-Baltimore music collective founded by EarthGang and JID.
