2562 is the recording name of Dave Huismans, an artist from Den Haag, born in 1979. His work is associated with dubstep and post-dubstep, and it also draws on minimal, techno and dub.

Style and sound

His productions combine post-garage rhythmic movement, rolling bass, and highly edited snares influenced by broken beat. They also use spacious dub-derived echo and a strong four-to-the-floor techno structure, with close attention to detail. The result is a stripped-back but full-sounding hybrid aimed at the dancefloor.
