The Great Escape will be kicking off festival season by playing host to over 450 up and coming artists and music-led convention across 35 walk-able venues from 8-11 May 2019 in Brighton, England.

AUSTRALIA – LEAD COUNTRY PARTNER

Following the massively successful partnership with Australia in 2010 which saw the country send over a host of then rising, huge talent including The Temper Trap, Gotye, Courtney Barnett and Iggy Azalea, The Great Escape is excited to pair up again to celebrate SOUNDS AUSTRALIA’s 10th Year of Exporting Australian Music to the UK.

The Executive Producer at SOUNDS AUSTRALIA, Millie Millgate, explains - “We are thrilled to be heading to Brighton this May as lead country, as we celebrate SOUNDS AUSTRALIA’s 10th Year of Exporting Australian Music to the UK. We cherish our partnership with The Great Escape team and recognise the incredible impact the festival has had for countless Australian artists and music businesses in the last decade. Year upon year The Great Escape has been the vehicle from which Australian artists have secured deals, garnered media attention and converted new audiences and we believe the Australian focus in 2019 will continue to deliver these career-building outcomes”.

Today The Great Escape announces it’s first wave of up and coming Aussie acts to play the 2019 festival which include punk band These New South Whales, indie folk threesome Sons of the East, grunge rock band Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, soul singer songwriter Allysha Joy, tiresome punk trio Cable Ties, scuzz girl band Body Type and alternative rock foursome TROPICAL FUCK STORM. Also, announced as part of the FIRST FIFTY, Jeffe and Emerson Snowe.
