Radio 1's Big Weekend Announce Location

This years long awaited Radio 1's Big weekend have announced live on the radio the location for this years festival!

Announced on the radio this morning this years Radio 1's Big Weekend will take place in Carlisle on the 14th -15th May 2011

BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend is the first major British music festival of the year and always attracts big UK and worldwide artists. So if you want to see the new names who'll dominate the summer's festivals, this is the place.

There will be live music across four stages. The Main stage, In New Music We Trust stage, Outdoor Stage and BBC Introducing stage there will be a varied mix of UK and international artists, from household names, to brand new artists championed by Radio 1 DJs. Recently the event has been to Dundee, Preston, Maidstone and Swindon. Bangor was a blissful weekend between mountains and lakes and now Carlisle is set to play host to the UK's biggest free ticketed music event.
