More Bands For Bloodstock

Festival Crowd Header

The good news keeps coming for metal fans, with BLOODSTOCK announcing three more additions to the 2014 bill.

LACUNA COIL are set to grace the main stage on Saturday.  The band have just wrapped recording of their new studio album, which is pencilled for a late March release via Century Media.  Fiery frontwoman, Cristina Scabbia comments “To be back at BLOODSTOCK will be such a BLAST!  I can't wait to see my family of Coilers in the UK again and to meet new friends.  I promise pure damn adrenaline from our stage!!  See ya there!”, whilst co-vocalist, Andrea Ferro enthuses “The UK is one of my favourite places to perform, it's really special.  The audiences are so enthusiastic, their approach to rock music just feels similar to my own somehow and that's why I'm really excited to be part of Bloodstock Open Air 2014!  It will be LACUNA COIL's second time there and I'm curious to see how the festival has grown.  We will have songs from the new album and some LC classics, so see ya all in the summer!”

Slipping into Saturday’s special guest slot are CARCASS.  Having released their critically acclaimed new album, ‘Surgical Steel’ via new record label, Nuclear Blast in September, the band are looking forward to their Catton Park return.  Bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker warns, “Unfinished business… CARCASS will return to Bloodstock 2014.  With new blood, new album, new songs, we'll be firing on all cylinders.  If you think you've already seen this band, think again.  We'll see you come what may in the mud and the rain, there to knock the air out of your inflatable swords and knock the wind out of your sails.  Let there be rot!”

Irish celtic/pagan metal five-piece, PRIMORDIAL also join the bill.  Renowned for their atmospheric and powerful stage shows, the band impressed many at 2011’s BLOODSTOCK in the wake of the release of last album, ‘Redemption At The Puritan’s Hand’.  Making their return for next year, PRIMORDIAL are not a band who tour relentlessly, so take the opportunity to catch them and their unique sound at BLOODSTOCK 2014.  Check out this live taster of ‘Empire Falls’ from 2009’s PaganFest.

With the three 2014 headliners already announced, the event is shaping up to be the strongest yet.  Friday night’s bill toppers are New Orleans sludgemeisters, DOWN.  Joining them to head up Saturday night are black metal overlords, EMPEROR and closing out proceedings on Sunday are the mighty thrash legends, MEGADETH.  Also announced so far are AMON AMARTH, OBITUARY, CROWBAR, HATEBREED, PRONG, CHILDREN OF BODOM, SAXON, DECAPITATED, FLOTSAM & JETSAM and EVIL SCARECROW.  More
bands will be announced shortly.
