Mars Volta has just been confirmed that progressive rockers The Mars Volta will be headlining the second stage at Hard Rock Calling 2012 in Hyde Park, London, on Friday 13 July.
Other acts performing on this day include main stage headliner Soundgarden, with supports Iggy and TheStooges, Cold Chisel, Blackstone Cherry, Kids in Glass Houses, Skindred, with many more to be announced.

Known for such landmark releases as the gold-certified De-Loused In The Comatorium and Frances The Mute and 2008's The Bedlam In Goliath which featured Best Hard Rock Performance Grammy winner "Wax Simulacra," The Mars Volta (Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Juan Alderete de la Pena, Marcel Rodriguez Lopez, and Deantoni Parks) have just released their sixth studio album, Noctourniquet, and are due to start their European tour early June.
