Jamie Oliver is taking his Big Feastival to the countryside this summer, rocking up at bassist from Blur turned master cheesemaker Alex James’ Oxfordshire farm in September for two days of tasty grub, awesome music performances, a chilled out vibe and general all-round, family-friendly, fantastic entertainment.

Jamie Oliver presents The Big Feastival with Alex James will take place on September 1st and 2nd in Kingham, Oxfordshire. An extravaganza of delicious food, sound-tracked by perfect summer sounds, this weekend of top entertainment today reveals a host of star appearances from the food, music and children’s entertainment world plus camping facilities for festival-goers wanting to get back to nature, chill out and top off their big day out with a night under canvas.

Headlining the Main Stage on Saturday 1st September will be the gorgeously talented Paloma Faith bringing some high-voltage glamour and vocals to The Big Feastival field. Former Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes and the endlessly entertaining Cuban Brothers will also perform on the first day with Razorlight taking to the stage on Sunday 2nd September. More music acts will be announced soon.

Gourmet food offerings this year include the British chef Mark Hix, pop-up restaurants a-plenty, inside tips, tricks of the trade, cook-offs and demos from top chefs in The Big Kitchen, masterclasses from green-fingered growers in The Kitchen Garden and the cream of the crop of passionate independent suppliers in the Farmers’ Market. And of course the cooking powerhouse Jamie Oliver will be in attendance showing wannabe culinary wizards how it’s done.

The Little Dudes Den will house the best in children’s entertainment including a performance from farm yard favourite Peppa Pig. Magic shows, fantastical storytelling, a Vintage Fun Fair, face painting, puppet-making and potting parties will ensure even the most energetic of little ones will be sleepy-eyed by the time they settle into their sleeping bags under the stars.

Good food, good music and good times for the whole family.

Jamie Oliver comments: “Roll on September! The Big Feastival was a great success in south London last year and I cannot wait to take this celebration of the greatest chefs, the best local produce and suppliers and some fantastic entertainment to a more rural location at Alex’s.  Not only is Alex hugely passionate about food and music, he has always been a generous supporter of my Foundation, and I can think of no better backdrop for The Big Feastival this year.”

Alex James adds: “I’m very happy to welcome such a great event as The Big Feastival to my farm. I’m particularly excited to host a festival that not only involves the local community, but also supports Jamie’s foundation. I can’t wait to spend a weekend on the farm surrounded by my two favourite things – food and music!”
