Meshuggah release new Album and announce UK tour dates

Meshuggah will release ‘Koloss ‘on March 26th 2012 through Nuclear Blast Records.

Meshuggah's new album will see a return of the math metal gods and will be their first studio release since 2008’s critically acclaimed masterpiece ‘Obzen’.

“As always, we try to take our music in a slightly different direction with each album and with KOLOSS we feel that we really nailed what we were going for.  Organic brutality, viscera and groove all crammed into a 54-minute metalicious treat, best avoided by the faint of heart!!” – Thomas Meshuggah  have also confirmed a full headline UK tour in April 2012 in support of their highly anticipated new album due out early next year.

Meshuggah formed in the late 1980’s in Umea in Sweden. After releasing their debut EP in 1989 the band signed to Nuclear Blast and released their full length debut album, “Contradictions Collapse”, in 1991. The new studio album will be the bands seventh, previous releases including the 1998’s legendary “Chaosphere”. The band are an established live draw, having  played numerous festival worldwide (including main stage at Ozzfest) and toured the USA with Tool on two separate occasions.

"Alive" comprises several live cuts on DVD, taped during various shows on their North American / Canadian tour with CYNIC in 2009 and the Loudpark festival in Tokyo 2008. This is rounded off with lots of backstage stuff, an insight into drum and guitar work plus videoclip material! The additional CD boasts the same 12 live tracks.
