Cara Dillon for this years Looe Music Festival

Cara will be performing on Sunday 25th September and if you don’t recognize her from the folk scene you will know her distinguishable voice from the title track of Disney’s Tinker Bell and The Great Fairy Rescue.

You will be hard pressed to find a more emotive and captivating performer than award winning singer Cara Dillon. Possessing a rare and unique voice that has been lauded since her very beginnings winning the All Ireland singing trophy aged only 14. Together with her husband and musical partner, Sam Lakeman, she has successfully steered an eclectic musical path defying the typical pigeonholes that hinder other performers.

Born in Dungiven in Northern Ireland, surrounded and infused with the rich cultural heritage of her native County Derry, Cara has risen to become one of the finest exponents of traditional Irish songs anywhere in the world.

Dillon has been bestowed countless accolades including four BBC Folk Awards, a Meteor Music Award, and Tatler’s ‘Woman of The Year’ in Music.

Cara Dillon joins Bryan Ferry, Wilko Johnson, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Lawrence Fox, Fisherman’s Friends, Alabama 3, King Kurt and Funk and Soul DJ Craig Charles. More names still to be released.
