Kevin Allen, to Appear at Focus Wales 2019

Festival Crowd Header

FOCUS Wales has become Wales’ biggest music industry event, with 3 days of panels and keynote talks, the festival will see over 250 music industry professional delegates descend upon Wrexham from around the world.

This year’s conference topics will include three panel sessions presented by PPL and PRS for Music. These panels will explore copyright, signing new artists and selling records for indie labels in the 21st century and Film & TV music, with the latter seeing movie music composer Mark Thomas and TWIN TOWN director Kevin Allen in conversation.

Award winning film-makers, Allen and Thomas, have worked together on all of Allen’s movie and TV projects since collaborating on his debut cult classic Twin Town, up to his critically acclaimed film version of Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood. Their entertaining show offers a fascinating insight into their collaboration over 20 years of creating scores of almost every genre.

The Swansea born director will also present the awards for best short films at the brand new FOCUS Wales Film Festival, which takes place during the main festival on Saturday 18th May.

Other guest speakers at FOCUS Wales 2019 include: Huw Stephens (BBC Radio 1) Matt Covey (Tamizdat, USA), Ruud Berends (ESNS, Netherlands), Martin Elbourne (Glastonbury), Bev Burton (Cambridge Folk Festival), Kaptin Barrett (Boomtown), Beverley Whitrick (Music Venue Trust), Rebecca Ayres (Liverpool Sound City), Abbie McCarthy (BBC Music Introducing), Ed Lilo (Latitude Festival), Adam Ryan (The Great Escape), Emma Zillmann (From The Fields), Karma Bertelsen (Kilimanjaro Live Ltd), Lio Kanine (Kanine Records, USA), Johnny Marlow (BreakOut West, Canada), Anika Mottershaw (Bella Union) plus many more!
