NME and Austin, Texas team up to offer incredible new band prize

NME and Austin, Texas – Live Music Capital of the World®, who are sponsoring the NME Awards 2014, have teamed up to offer a once in a lifetime prize for one new band.

One luckynew act will be offered the chance to play at October’s Austin City LimitsMusic Festival, one of the most prestigious and well-known music festivals inthe US. Scouting for the best new artists in the UK, bands can enter thecompetition now at nme.com/austincitylimits
 
The prize is all-inclusive: the band will get return flights to Austin, Texasas well as accommodation and everything needed to make the performance – on oneof the festival’s main stages - unforgettable. NME and Austin, Texas arelooking for the best new artists in the UK – they don’t need to have a recorddeal or manager, the prize is aimed at those acts just starting out.
 
Austin City Limits Music Festival takes place in October at the city’s Zilker Park,with over 70,000 music fans attending each day. Last year’s festival was one ofthe best yet, featuring Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Atoms For Peace, Vampire Weekend,Savages, Haim, Tame Impala, Kings Of Leon, The Cure and many, many more – andthis year it’s looking set to boast an even more impressive bill.

NME’s unique partnership with Austin, Texas will run throughout the NMEAwards season.  It includes the regional NME Awards Tour, theLondon NME Awards Shows - which features the best in new andcurrent music at the hottest venues in the capital - and the NME Awardsceremony.  Austin, Texas will also sponsor the prestigious BestInternational Band category at the NME Awards.
