Truck Festival Update

Festival Crowd Header

The Truck Festival team have some more confirmed acts for you for this year’s festival. Those returning for a second helping of Hill Farm magic include the epic noise noiseniks And So I Watch You From Afar, setting their guitars to kill..

..the multi-talented Patrick Wolf, 10 years into his career and fresh from a world tour; the inspirational and anthemic Irishman Foy Vance; and the honey-voiced Alessi’s Ark, armed with a beautiful new album “The Still Life”.  Also returning after making a splash both locally and nationally are Wild Swim.
New to Truck are Public Service Broadcasting, in their own words “the corduroy-clad brainchild of London-based J. Willgoose, Esq. who, along with his drumming companion, Wrigglesworth will be touring the length and breadth of the UK in 2013 on a quest to Inform - Educate and, most importantly – Entertain.” Alright! Swedish garage rockers Royal Republic , cinematic LA instrument-swapping fivesome Milo Greene and, last but not least, Irish hardcore survivors Wounds complete this evening’s truckload.
All in all, the line-up, which already includes Spiritualized, The Horrors, Ash, Dry the River, Gaz Coombes, Dan le Sac & Scroobius Pip, The Joy Formidable, Rolo Tomassi and many more, is shaping up to be very tasty indeed. Which neatly brings us on to…
Good food for a good cause- Truck gets tasty!
Truck Festival has always been known as a kind of “village fete with bands”, where the local Rotary Club flip burgers and the vicar sells ice-creams while the cream of the indie world and local Oxford music scene provide the music. That much is still true, but the Rotary Club have been watching Saturday morning cookery shows too, and some exciting culinary change is in the air!
Rather than contract out to the same food stalls you see at every other festival, plans are afoot to create a Food Festival at Truck, a dedicated space hosting a new range of dishes and flavours.  Rather than being staffed by an Oliver or Ottolenghi, the Food Festival will be created by volunteers and local groups, with the one rule remaining that all food profits must go to charities and good causes. Yes, the famous Rotary burgers and donuts will still be there, but these will be joined by a host of exciting and exotic new dishes. Yes, the times they are a-changin’ at Hill Farm…
Says organiser Ralph Broadbent: “This year will be a memorable chapter for Truck – I’m not sure what I’m more excited about, the lineup or the food! I’m looking forward to Spiritualized and sushi  at Hill Farm!”
