Folk by the Oak

A festival of folk’s finest acts gathered together in beautiful leafy parkland for one uplifting summer day of music.

Folk by the Oak 2013 are sticking with their tradition and gathering together folk's finest acts for this years festival.

Announcing to the line up Carthy, Hardy, Farrell & Young. The ‘Fiddle Girls’ released their first album Laylam just 2 weeks ago. The styles on the album are varied and beautifully performed and we are proud to present.

Joining them will be Fay Hield and the Hurricane Party with Martin Simpson. Fay Hield is a singer who seems to have been born knowing how to carry a tune but with the rarer gift of knowing how to go straight to the heart of a song. The Hurricane party is nothing short of a folk supergroup. The addition of guitar legend Martin Simpson is a match made in folk heaven!

They will be complementing headliners Kate Rusby and Oysterband, (joining Lau, Jim Moray & the Doret Ensemble and Gilmore & Roberts) for the 2013 annual festival.
