My Chemical Romance to open Shockwaves NME Awards

American rockers My Chemical Romance have been confirmed to open the awards bash at London's O2 Academy in Brixton.

With the announcement of Dave Grohl picking up the Godlike Genius Award we can now reveal that opening this fantastic awards bash will be none other than the world famous American rock group, My Chemical Romance. 
Taking place on Wednesday 23Rd February at London's iconic O2 Brixton Academy are the Shockwaves NME Awards with Dave Grohl picking up his Godlike Genius Award and then playing with the Foo Fighters at this annual event. 
My Chemical Romance have been nominated for four awards including, best international band, best album, best album artwork and best video.  
The Shockwaves NME Award shows are due to take over London in February with acts like Mystery Jets, Noah and the Whale, Frankie and the Heartstrings and many more playing throughout top venues across London. 

The date for this event is 23rd February
