Red Rooster, the Suffolk Rhythm & Blues festival, which returns for its third year this summer is very pleased to announce its main stage line up of artists for 2016

Headliners James Hunter Six bring a classic yet modern brand of rhythm n blues that captivates listeners across the generations and earned them two Billboard Blues Chart #1’s in the process. They headline along with King Khan & The Shrines. They have recently signed to Daptone Records releasing the critically-acclaimed album, ‘Hold On!’   The Handsome Family from New Mexico bring their unique, highly descriptive narrative and exhilarating musical re-imaginings of everything from Appalachian holler, psychedelic rock, Tin Pan Alley and medieval ballad!

This year Red Rooster also introduces new late-night hotspot, The Howlin’ Woods.  Designed in the style of an old-school Southern record store, resident DJs will be spinning the finest RnB, Soul and Rock n Roll  ‘til the early hours, whilst the bar serves some of the finest shots on the planet. ‘Take a load off by day and get lost by night’ is our watchword.

Red Rooster aims to champion the very best in R’n’B, Americana, Blues, Soul, Roots and Country, the perfect destination for a ‘Deep South’ weekend of music, food and culture.

Located in the beautiful private gardens of Euston Hall in Suffolk, designed by celebrated landscape designers William Kent and ‘Capability’ Brown,  Red Rooster attracts not only music devotees but families, festival goers, and tenderfoots alike.  The backdrop is idyllic, the atmosphere laid back and engaging.  Kids can run freely through vast corn fields, families can enjoy lip-smacking authentic ribs and soul food by a campfire under the stars, and most importantly enjoy a fun event where the whole kit and caboodle can get down and dirty to the raucous sounds radiating from the woodland’s main stage venue.  The days are slower in the South so there’s also plenty of time to kick back and enjoy the roaming brass bands, who recreate the spirit of the French Quarter, New Orleans.

The hospitality, food and culture of the Deep South is fully embraced at Red Rooster with a number of award-winning street food traders. Sample authentic Creole-style cooking with Colonel Tom’s gumbo, gourmet mac’n’cheese from the Mac Factory, Southern Comfort soul food from Soul & Pepper, Texan BBQs & brisket from The Harbercue,  Southern-style jackfruit tacos from the infamous Club Mexicana.  This year Red Rooster welcomes on board  Man Meat Fire recent winner of  ‘Best Low & Slow’ in TVs ‘BBQ Champ.’ hosted by Adam Richman and Myleene Klass.

Drinks on offer will include a wide array of cocktails - including refreshing  juleps, Lousiana Jams, Pickle Backs and Hillbilly Moonshines.  There will be a range of ales & beers, whiskeys & bourbons – all  served in swell Southern style - by the boys & belles from Soul Shakers .
