First Acts Announced for Groove Loch Ness 2018

Festival Crowd Header

Scotland’s Nightclub Under the Stars, Groove Loch Ness returns to it’s iconic location for the annual electronic and dance 1 dayer on Saturday 18th August 2018.

Topping the bill for our fourth outing is Detroit’s House music legend, revered producer, remixer and DJ Marc ‘MK’ Kinchen. Having taken care of remixes for a wide range of artists including, Sam Smith, Pharrell, Paloma Faith, Ellie Goulding, Disclosure, Haim, Mary J. Blige, Diplo, Rudimental, amongst many more, managing his own label and event brand Area10  and being behind the huge multi million plus-selling ‘Push The Feeling On’ remix for The Nightcrawlers, his 2017 release ‘17’ earned the pioneer his first UK Dance #1, cementing his spot at the forefront of the global house music scene.

Joining MK is undisputed star of 2017 HANNAH WANTS, a world-renowned DJ with some serious credentials. The queen of Bass House brought bass-fuelled party starters to dancefloors across the world, quickly establishing herself as one of the best-loved British DJs of the scene. 2014 saw her crowned Best Breakthrough DJ at the DJ Mag awards and Mixmag’s best breakthrough DJ & Star Of The Year.

Best known to many as DCI John Luther on BBC One Series ‘Luther’ and as Stringer Bell in HBO’s ‘The Wire’, IDRIS ELBA will make his Scottish DJ debut at Loch Ness this summer. Outside acting Idris is an exceptionally respected house dj and producer within his own right, starting his DJ career long before his big break in the acting world. With guest mixes curated for Pete Tong, a residency at Ibiza Rocks, appearances at Creamfields, SW4, Glastonbury, Snowbombing to name a few under his belt and set to support Fatboy Slim at London's Elrow Festival this summer, Idris is set to be a highlight on the Loch.

Taking control of our now infamous ‘Late night’ set this year will be the one and only BEN NICKY. Ben is without a shadow of a doubt the stand out, record-breaking star on the global trance scene. Having catapulted himself into the limelight to transcend well beyond the genre and tattooing his mark on the scene and outselling his peers to become one of the most sought-after globe trotting artists and online celebrities, with his social media interaction and viral videos second to none!

Further acts will be announced in the coming months along with details of our 2nd stage.

‘We are delighted to announce the return of Groove Loch Ness and to be bringing this fantastic line up to the most incredible festival location in the world. Now in our fourth year we can’t wait until summer to party on the Loch with everyone!’ Caroline Campbell Groove Festival
