12 June - 14 June 2026 Etherow Park, Compstall, SK65JQ
From June 12th to 14th, 2026, Moovin Festival returns to Etherow Park for three full days of music, art and community. Set on the eco-friendly Whitebottom Farm in Etherow Country Park, Compstall (Cheshire), Moovin feels like a world away from city life. Just a stone's throw from Manchester, the festival is nestled among rolling green fields and woodland glades. You will enter a welcoming, nature-filled gathering where bright festival flags flutter in the breeze and every corner hides a new adventure.
The music lineup is a vibrant mix of genres, from bumping basslines and old-school funk to soulful vocals, reggae grooves, driving house and drum & bass. Six unique stages offer nonstop entertainment, and the festival purposefully keeps the crowd small so every set feels intimate. In fact, fans often joke it feels like headline-quality acts are playing on every stage at once - incredible talent all around, giving fantastic value. Whether you are swaying to a live soul band or bopping to late-night electronic beats, you will find energy and surprises at every turn.
But Moovin Festival is about more than just music. The atmosphere is laid-back and community-driven: there are no VIP areas or red ropes - just one big family of friendly festivalgoers. By day you might start with a morning yoga session or a gong-bath to get the mind right, then explore artisan markets and sample delicious local food and creative cocktails. You might even stumble upon roving performers and eye-catching art installations around the site. As dusk falls, bonfires and fire artists spring to life, while lantern-lit paths and glow-in-the-dark face paint make the night feel magical under the stars.
For a festival of this size, the sense of togetherness is something special. Many people arrive as strangers and leave as lifelong friends (some even return engaged or married!). Thanks to the friendly, counter-cultural spirit, people often see neighbours dancing and laughing together just feet from the DJ. Everyone shares the fun equally. Of course, camping is available if you want the full weekend experience - fall asleep under the stars in your tent (showers and toilets are provided to keep you refreshed). If roughing it is not your style, nearby Stockport and Manchester have plenty of hotels, B&Bs or guesthouses for rest between the festivities.
For everyone - from seasoned festival veterans to curious newcomers - Moovin promises a weekend like no other. Pack your favorite tent, gather your crew, and get ready for a summer of sun, smiles and seriously good music. Moovin Festival is calling - see you in the fields!
Getting to Etherow Park is relatively easy whether you are driving or using public transport. If driving, follow signs for Etherow Country Park (Compstall). The festival typically uses the Etherow Country Park car park (postcode SK6 5HH). From there it is about a 20-25 minute walk through the park to reach the music fields (a shuttle bus may also run for a small fee). Private vehicles are not allowed past the main car park, so drop-off or shuttle options are used for the final stretch.
If you prefer public transport, Stockport, Marple and Romiley are the nearest train stations (all on regular lines from Manchester). From Stockport, you can catch a local train or bus (for example, the 383 or 384 bus) into Compstall; this stops at Compstall Village, just a few minutes' walk from the park entrance. Trains to Marple and Romiley connect to local buses or taxis as well. Bus routes 383, 384 and 394 serve Compstall regularly, getting you close to the festival site.
The closest airport is Manchester Airport (about 20 miles / 30 minutes by car). From there you can take a train to central Manchester or Stockport and then catch a bus or taxi to Compstall. Other airports like Liverpool John Lennon or Leeds/Bradford are possible but involve a longer journey (roughly 1-2 hours by road or rail).
As for accommodation, many festival-goers camp on site (the event usually offers weekend camping passes so you can sleep right by the music in your tent). If you would rather stay off the grounds, nearby Stockport (around 6 miles away) has a range of hotels, guesthouses and B&Bs. The villages of Marple and Romiley also offer charming lodging options. Even central Manchester is reachable (about a 35-40 minute drive or train ride) if you want a big city hotel. In any case, book early - rooms fill up fast in the area during festival season!
