That’s right!  The first ever Frome Folk festival  has kindly given UK Festival Guides not 1 but 2 pairs of weekend tickets to this year’s festival that takes place in, Somerset on February 18th and 19th.
 
The festival site is situated at the eastern end of the Mendip Hills in Frome which boasts steep cobbled streets, old weavers’ cottages and historic Georgian buildings as well as the popular entertainment venue The Cheese and Grain which will be the focus for what promises to be one of England’s finest folk festivals. 

Irish singing star Cara Dillon, who lives in Frome, is patron and the lineup features some outstanding artists from the folk world. Show of Hands’ award-winning frontman and songwriter Steve Knightley headlines the Sunday whilst the hugely popular Spiers and Boden top the Saturday bill.  Chris Wood and Jim Moray will also be taking to the stage as will InterCeltic rabble rousers  Jamie Smith’s Mabon, Bella Hardy, Sean Lakeman and Kathryn Roberts and Miranda Sykes and Rex Preston  and no less than seven 2012 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards nominees including Jackie Oates, rising North West band Pilgrims’ Way and the knock-out duo of Brendan Power and Tim Edey.  See Frome Folk Festival website for more lineup info. www.fromefolkfestival.co.uk

More than 100 Morris dancers ffom three counties will be getting the festival off to a lively start. The whole town will be buzzing, with other stages at the nearby Westway Cinema, Masonic Hall and Round Tower as well as pub sessions at The Griffin, The Cornerhouse and The Bear.
