Sink Ships begins in late 2009 and is based in Copenhagen. The group brings together two Australians, a Dane, a Canadian and a Swede.

Its music combines late-night alt-country with lo-fi electric Americana. The band draws on influences including Red House Painters, M. Ward, Whiskeytown and Gillian Welch.
