Les Ambassadeurs are a Canadian hip-hop collective from Québec, active since 1999. The group’s members are Breeze, DaWN, FMU, Mista J, Leveq, Jean-Philippe Matte, P, RD and Sunjib.

West African band of the 1970s and 1980s

Les Ambassadeurs is also the name of a legendary West African band associated with Mali in the 1970s and 1980s. That group features Salif Keita on vocals, along with guitarists Kante Manfila and Ousmane Kouyate, bala player Keletigui Diabate and Cheikh Tidane Seck on keyboards. Its sound draws on traditional Manding songs as well as African pop, Cuban jazz, soul and rock.

Later name

After political unrest forces the band to leave Mali, it later performs under the name Les Ambassadeurs Internationales.
